Palliative Care
Palliative Care for Pets with Cancer
Palliative care focuses on helping pets feel as comfortable and engaged as possible while living with cancer. It may be provided alongside cancer treatment or become the primary approach when treatment is not pursued, is no longer helping, or would place too great a burden on the pet.
At Pet Cancer Center, palliative care is not about stepping away from care. It is an active, individualized plan centered on easing symptoms, protecting quality of life, and supporting the moments that continue to matter to your family.
What May Palliative Care Include?
Every plan is shaped around the pet's diagnosis, symptoms, overall health, and daily life. Recommendations may include:
- Pain and symptom management
- Support for appetite, nausea, or digestive concerns
- Medications to improve comfort or mobility
- Adjustments to existing cancer treatments
- Guidance for monitoring changes at home
- Ongoing quality-of-life assessment
As your pet's needs change, the plan can change with them.

Helping You Navigate the Path Ahead
There is no single right choice for every pet or family. We will speak openly about what we are seeing, what may help, and what the days ahead could look like.
Our role is to help you make decisions with greater understanding while keeping your pet's comfort, personality, and quality of life at the center.
