Collaborative Care

Communication with Your Primary Care Veterinarian

Keeping Your Pet's Team Connected

Your primary veterinarian remains an important part of your pet's care. At Pet Cancer Center, we are committed to keeping everyone involved informed, aligned, and prepared to support your pet throughout treatment.

We share consultation findings, diagnostic results, treatment recommendations, medication updates, and follow-up plans so your veterinary teams can work from the same information and provide seamless continuity of care.

Clear Communication Throughout Treatment

Our team keeps your referring veterinarian updated with:

  • Consultation notes and diagnostic findings
  • Treatment and medication plans
  • Updates following oncology visits
  • Monitoring and follow-up recommendations
  • Changes in your pet's condition or treatment
  • Guidance for supportive care that may be provided through their hospital

This ongoing communication helps reduce gaps, avoid confusion, and ensure that each provider understands their role in the plan.

Working Together for Your Pet

Some follow-up testing, medications, or supportive care may be managed by your primary veterinarian when appropriate. In other situations, care may continue primarily through Pet Cancer Center.

We will help clarify who is responsible for each part of the plan so you know where to turn with questions and your veterinary teams can work together with a shared understanding of what comes next.
